23 Video Design Challenge: Enterprise video in the digital workplace Implementation of digital enterprise communication and knowledge sharing tools often comes at the expense of context, texture and richness of detail. Enterprise video can be applied to provide increased intimacy and bandwidth in the digital workplace. We challenge CBS Information Management students to design innovative and creative yet viable solutions for the digital workplace that address one or more of the following subjects: •Creative uses of enterprise video to solve specific business issues •Design solutions for integrating video seamlessly in the digital workplace •Connecting video to information repositories and archives in other formats •How video can be implemented to support a social workplace Accenture design challenge: Governing the digital workplace As employees are empowered to connect and collaborate, questions emerge about the processes that govern the digital workplace after implementation of collaborative and social technologies. We challenge IM students to produce creative yet viable solutions to one or more of the following issues of governing the digital workplace: •How can we design for governing structures to ensure day-to-day compliance with corporate policy and strategy? •How can we measure company and employee performance in the digital workplace? Phases design challenge: Integrating collaboration in business processes As employees are increasingly digitally literate, social collaboration tools are proliferating in the workplace. The major challenge in embracing these new technologies is integrating it – intelligently- in core business processes. We challenge IM students to produce creative yet viable solutions to one or more of the following issues of collaborative technology in the digital workplace : •For which business processes does it make sense to employ social collaboration tools, and which are best served by other tools? Why? •How can we integrate social collaboration technologies deeply in our core business processes, and how do they affect and change organisation and its processes? |
